What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is a collaborative process that uses guided relaxation and focused attention to help you access your inner mind. It is a highly effective tool for shifting automatic, unwelcome patterns, managing stress, and creating lasting habit change.
Is Hypnotherapy considered Psychotherapy in Quebec?
In accordance with Loi 21 in Quebec, it is important to distinguish between supportive care and the practice of psychotherapy. My services are categorized as supportive care and personal development (rencontres d’accompagnement).
While we work deeply with habits and emotional steady-ness, these sessions are designed to provide a “season of support” to help you manage symptoms and build new patterns. They do not involve the diagnosis or treatment of mental disorders, which remains the domain of medical psychotherapy.

This work is designed for those navigating the weight of stress, anxiety, or chronic pain, as well as individuals seeking a deeper sense of personal growth. Every session is tailored to your unique nervous system and the specific goals you wish to reach.

What are your qualifications?
I am Katherine Fitz (RCH, BA Psy).
I am a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist and Counselling Therapist with over 35 years of clinical experience in healthcare. My foundation includes a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Trent University, a Diploma in Psychotherapy and Counselling, and nursing education. I am certified in Relational Accompaniment and Support (MARA) and am a member in good standing with RITMA and ARCH.
My practice brings a deep, integrated understanding of health and wellness to every tailored session.
What can I expect during a session?
You will be guided into a natural state of focused relaxation where you remain in complete control at all times. This is a collaborative experience—a supportive dialogue where we explore thoughts, patterns, and feelings to help you move forward with clarity.
How long are the sessions?
Initial Intake: 60–75 minutes. Subsequent Sessions: 45–60 minutes, tailored to your specific needs and progress.
How many sessions will I need?
Hypnotherapy is a brief, solution-focused approach. While every path is unique, many clients achieve their specific goals within 6–12 sessions. We will consistently review your progress to ensure the timeline remains tailored to your evolution.
How do you comply with Quebec’s Loi 21?
In accordance with provincial regulations, my practice focuses on supportive care and personal development(accompagnement). I do not provide medical diagnoses or formal psychotherapy. Instead, I offer a “season of support” to help you manage life’s challenges, build resilience, and reach your personal goals.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes. I provide receipts for reimbursement under Naturopathy (RITMA). I recommend checking with your insurance provider to confirm that your specific plan covers these services.

What are the payment options?
For your convenience, I accept payments via Interac e-transfer.
How do I book an appointment?
